A team led by Professor Shin-ae Park at Konkuk University has developed an AI algorithm to quantify physical movements during agricultural activities, paving the way for customized programs.
Key points
•Develops AI algorithm for quantifying agricultural movements
•Analyzes over 57 types of farming tasks
•Automatically classifies similar movements into three categories
Professor Shin-ae Park's research team at Konkuk University has created an AI algorithm aimed at quantifying bodily movements during farming tasks. The project was supported by the Rural Development Administration and analyzed over 57 types of agricultural activities to extract information on 24 key joints.
By analyzing video footage, the researchers were able to quantify joint movement ranges and positions for each activity type. They also automatically classified similar movements into three categories based on their characteristics.
Professor Park believes this research will provide a foundation for objectively analyzing physical movements in various healing agriculture activities. It is expected to be used in developing customized programs tailored to individual needs and program goals.
