Konkuk University (President Won Jong-beop) along with related institutions formed the 'Daegu Startup City-Konkuk Anchor Fund 1' in collaboration, completing its registration. The fund plans to focus on investments in semiconductor, biopharmaceutical, AI, and environmental sectors by linking regional science technology with metropolitan tech commercialization networks.
Participating institutions will provide support throughout the entire process from initial acceleration to follow-up investment using their respective expertise. This is expected to be a growth design-type deep-tech investment platform that offers more than just funding, including technology validation, R&D, and business management assistance.
Park Jae-min, CEO of Konkuk University Technology Holdings, stated that the fund will support promising deep-tech startups by combining university tech commercialization capabilities with metropolitan investment infrastructure. President Won Jong-beop emphasized the creation of a sustainable innovation ecosystem through organic collaboration.
