The Yeongdeungpo Youth Counseling and Welfare Center is lowering the barrier to counseling and building a local safety net by conducting peer counseling outreach that directly reaches youth in their daily lives.

Key points

  • Yeongdeungpo Youth Counseling and Welfare Center strengthens community-integrated peer counseling outreach
  • Utilizing Dalcomchanggo and the Youngstory platform to reduce psychological burden
  • Detecting and linking early signs of crisis both inside and outside schools

The center is strengthening its peer counseling outreach, which directly reaches youth in their daily lives at school sites and offline festival venues. This model is realized through locations such as Dalcomchanggo, the Youngstory platform, and street counseling booths, supporting youth concerns in various settings both inside and outside schools.

The peer counseling outreach reduces psychological burden by utilizing snacks and online platforms, while also serving to detect and quickly link instances of peer conflict or signs of crisis early on. This model is establishing itself as Yeongdeungpo's specialized peer safety net, helping youth feel comfortable opening up.

The peer counseling outreach is expanding from within schools to offline community sites. At the 'Dalchon Night Market' festival held on the 11th, a special street counseling booth using tarot, which is familiar to youth, was operated. This is evaluated as a differentiated case that makes counseling more accessible to young people.
