•Seoul Tech Rocket Club 'HANARO', NURA academic conference and launch competition wins
•2027 IREC 10,000ft class participation with airbraking and injection molded gimbal camera payload
HANARO, a rocket club from Seoul National University’s Department of Aerospace Engineering, showcased its prowess in rocket development by successfully launching and recovering their two-stage rocket ‘Identity²’, which achieved an altitude of 496 meters during the NURA academic conference and launch competition.
'Identity²' features single stage separation, dual engine ignition, and parachute recovery systems. The successful flight test provided valuable data on HANARO’s flight system performance.
Building on their success in completing all flight sequences at the 2025 IREC as the first domestic university team, HANARO plans to participate in the 10,000ft class of the 2027 IREC competition in Midland, Texas, with a rocket equipped for airbraking and injection molded gimbal camera payload.
In addition to international competitions, HANARO continues to engage in technical exchanges and educational activities with students from around the world. The club receives support from Seoul National University’s Department of Aerospace Engineering.
