Gitec has signed a pact with KDNPC to develop and demonstrate domestic substitutes for critical components in power plant wastewater recycling EDR equipment, addressing the risk of component shortages.
Key points
•Gitec, KDNPC sign pact for power plant wastewater recycling EDR equipment
•Field testing aims to expand application in power plants and manufacturing industries
•Aims to reduce risks of component shortages and enhance domestic technology self-reliance
Precision parts and materials company Gitec has entered into an agreement with KDNPC to develop and test domestically produced key subcomponents for EDR equipment used in power plant wastewater reuse, aiming to reduce reliance on foreign suppliers and enhance domestic technology self-reliance.
The pact was signed at the Yeonghwa Power Plant headquarters on October 15. Gitec will lead this initiative based on its precision processing capabilities, with plans to expand application in power plants and manufacturing industries through field testing over a year.
Successfully completing the development and field tests within one year is expected to mitigate risks of equipment shutdowns due to component shortages from foreign suppliers while contributing to the domestic water treatment parts supply chain.
