Collaboration platform Miro announced that the use of its AI collaboration canvas is expanding, with its MCP server calls exceeding 16 million.

Key points

  • Miro surpassed 16 million MCP server calls, with usage more than doubling since May.
  • The user base is expanding beyond developers into various roles, including product and design.
  • 15 AI clients are integrated, supporting visualization and editing on the canvas.

Miro announced that its MCP server calls surpassed 16 million since its launch in February 2026. Furthermore, usage has more than doubled since May, and is expected to reach 6 million in September alone.

Miro's MCP server allows users to visualize and instantly edit AI tool outputs on shared canvases, making them accessible to the entire team. This improves upon existing workflows where AI interactions are confined to chat windows or static outputs.

According to Miro user data, 65% of August usage came from Claude Desktop and Claude Code. ChatGPT became the second largest client, with user numbers increasing by 71% in September compared to August. A total of 15 AI clients are currently connected through MCP integration, including Microsoft Copilot and Gemini Enterprise.

Data analysis showed that the canvas is utilized for both AI agent input and output. 57% of August calls were in the 'Miro to Code' method, where the agent reads the board and performs tasks, while 41% were in the 'Code to Miro' method, where the agent generates boards, diagrams, and layouts.

MCP users have moved beyond the developer domain. Users in engineering and developer roles account for less than a quarter of total MCP users, while product, design, marketing, operations, and project management roles combined are nearly twice as many as engineers.
