Key points
•NVP-1905 probiotic, facial flushing improvement
•8-week clinical trial shows high efficacy and safety
•Potential for non-hormonal menopause symptom management
NVP-Healthcare announced results from a clinical trial of its microflora-based probiotic NVP-1905 to address facial flushing. The study, conducted with Bucheon St. Mary's Hospital, showed that after eight weeks, the NVP-1905 group experienced statistically significant reductions in both frequency and severity of facial flushing compared to placebo.
Comprising Lactiplantibacillus plantarum NK3 and Bifidobacterium longum NK49, NVP-1905 demonstrated a 54.4% reduction in facial flushing among 60% of the 130 female participants, compared to 30.2% in the placebo group. The study also confirmed the safety of NVP-1905.
NVP-Healthcare aims to introduce these non-hormonal menopause symptom management findings on an international scale and expand its microflora-based women's health research. Future studies will continue to validate the potential use of NVP-1905 as a non-hormonal approach for managing menopausal symptoms.
