This year’s theme, 'Books that Sharpen Our Eyes on the World,' saw nine finalists selected after an initial round. The participants presented their books at the main competition held on August 29 at Taean Library, with final selections made by professional judges and evaluators.
The finals will be decided through online voting where citizens can choose one book per category they would like to read based on watching the finalists' book introduction videos. Winners in each category will be crowned as 'Champion Books,' with second and third place books receiving honorable mentions.
Hwaseong City Cultural Foundation CEO An Pil-yeon said, ‘We hope that citizens can get closer to books by listening to the participants’ stories and directly selecting the champion book.'
