Semiconductor fabless firm Excena and genomics-based tech company Portray have entered into a MOU to jointly develop CXL-based infrastructure for large-scale bio-data processing.
Key points
•Excena and Portray form CXL memory infrastructure partnership
•Jointly develop computing infrastructure for large-scale bio-data processing
•Explore application of MX1 CXL memory solution
Excena, a semiconductor fabless company developing next-generation memory infrastructure, and Portray, a space omics-based techbio firm, will collaborate on validating and optimizing computing infrastructure using CXL technology for large-scale bio-data processing.
The agreement includes pre-validation of Portray's 10x Genomics space omics analysis workload 'Atera' in Excena's CXL-based memory expansion solution environment, as well as additional technical validation and commercialization cooperation using actual data.
Excena and Portray are also exploring the application of MX1, their next-generation CXL memory solution, to Portray’s AI and bioinformatics infrastructure. This aims to enhance system configurations and operational strategies optimized for large-scale space omics analysis.
