The Jeonnam Metropolitan Mental Health Center announced it has entered into an operational agreement with the Poverty Alleviation Finance Promotion Institute's Gwangju-Jeonro-Chujo branch and the Credit Recovery Commission's Gwangju-Jeonro-Chujo branch to strengthen early identification of economically vulnerable individuals and link mental health services.
This collaboration aims to address situations where financial difficulties such as living in poverty or excessive debt can lead to mental health issues and suicidal tendencies. The three institutions will work together to identify at-risk individuals, provide counseling, and offer financial and debt adjustment support in a coordinated manner.
The organizations plan to operate mobile consultation centers starting from September 28th at Wolga Village Hall in Jinju, with additional centers planned for the future to help identify residents facing economic hardships and mental health issues, and assist citizens who need services.
