SunnySideUp, led by CEO Choi Mi-kyung, announced it has completed the 10-minute AI animation 'The Sun Rises in the West.'
This work is the second story in SunnySideUp's 'World of the Unconscious' series. The first work, 'I Go to Bury Every Night,' was set against the backdrop of the 'Moon's World of the Unconscious.' This time, the setting has been moved from the Moon to Venus.
In 'The Sun Rises in the West,' the unconscious mind of 'Seo-hae,' a man who speaks contrary to his true feelings, is set on Venus. Venus is a planet that rotates in the opposite direction to Earth, causing the sun to rise in the west.' CEO Choi Mi-kyung explained that Venus was suitable for capturing the true feelings of a protagonist who speaks contrary to his heart.
The planet Venus in the work is home to a blue frog monster called 'Gorf,' which is also a being that speaks contrary to its true feelings. In the pond guarded by Gorf, are words that Seo-hae ultimately failed to say, preserved in the form of frog eggs. Seo-hae reunites with his lover, 'No-eul,' on Venus after their breakup and confronts his true feelings while protecting the eggs.
Through this work, SunnySideUp plans to expand its world view by containing the unconscious mind of different emotions on various planets, including Pluto and Neptune, in addition to the Moon and Venus.
