NICE Information, the leading domestic credit information company, has partnered with NuriLab, an AI security specialist, to launch a 'Malicious Text Pre-blocking API' service for internet text message sending operators.

Key points

  • NICE Information and NuriLab launched the Malicious Text Pre-blocking API service.
  • Provides real-time URL risk judgment and prohibited word screening functions.
  • Planned to gradually expand to malicious app analysis in the future.

NICE Information and NuriLab developed the 'Malicious Text Pre-blocking API' service, which assesses the presence of malicious URLs and prohibited words in real time, in accordance with the recently strengthened Enforcement Decree of the Telecommunications Business Act. This service can be easily adopted by text message sending operators without needing separate system replacements, and stable service provision is possible based on their experience operating existing mobile phone identity verification systems.

The URL risk judgment engine integrated into the service was developed by NuriLab. It enhances judgment accuracy by combining malicious URL data secured through an agreement with KISA and its proprietary database. The service plans to gradually expand its scope to include malicious app (APK) analysis in the future.

NICE Information has already signed contracts with numerous text message businesses and begun providing the service, and it is also running a discount promotion for pre-contract clients in line with the October re-registration deadline. Kim Jong-yoon, CEO of NICE, stated, “We will contribute to creating a safe environment for the public against smishing damage.”
