Kyunghee University College of Hotel and Tourism was recognized for its global competitiveness, ranking third globally in the Hospitality & Tourism Management field in the Shanghai Ranking's '2026 Global University Discipline Evaluation.'

According to the '2026 Global University Discipline Evaluation (GRAS)' released by Shanghai Ranking, the College of Hotel and Tourism at Kyunghee University ranked third globally in the Hospitality & Tourism Management field. This marks a significant jump of 14 ranks, up from 17th globally in 2025.

The evaluation is a global assessment that measures research competitiveness in various academic disciplines across universities worldwide. For 2026, the ranking was calculated using objective indicators such as world-class faculty, world-class research achievements, excellent research, research influence, and international cooperation, covering 57 academic fields including natural sciences, engineering, life sciences, medicine, and social sciences.

In this evaluation, Kyunghee University College of Hotel and Tourism achieved the world's third rank, following Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and the University of Surrey in the UK, securing the highest ranking among domestic Korean universities. Additionally, Professor Nam-ho Jung and Professor Chul-mo Ku were named among the '2025 Global Top 1% Highly Cited Researchers (HCR)' in the social sciences field, selected by Clarivate.

Kyunghee University is continuously expanding research that integrates information technology, such as smart tourism and artificial intelligence (AI), into the tourism sector. Furthermore, the university is enhancing the quality and international influence of its research by promoting international joint research and convergence studies.

College of Hotel and Tourism Dean Won-seok Seo set a goal to elevate Kyunghee University College of Hotel and Tourism to a 'Global No. 1 College of Hotel and Tourism' through securing outstanding new faculty and strengthening research and educational competitiveness. Dean Seo stated that, marking the 50th anniversary of the College of Hotel and Tourism in 2025, the university will 'lead the next 50 years with the goal of becoming the world's No. 1 university in the Hospitality & Tourism field.'
