Lyft has made its service available across Europe, allowing North American users to call vehicles using the same app they are familiar with when traveling abroad. This expansion accelerates Lyft's transition into a global multi-mobility platform.
Sid Patil, Lyft’s Chief Rideshare and Marketplace Officer, stated that arriving in Europe means users can continue using their familiar Lyft app for seamless rides. The launch is based on beta testing in Europe and involves integrating third-party marketplaces to give riders access to various vehicle options.
This new backend framework connects the Lyft rider app with third-party marketplaces, enabling riders to use multiple services through one app. This capability will be expanded to more countries and marketplaces in the future.
