AM Green Ammonia (India) Private Limited has secured a long-term purchase agreement worth at least 585 million euros for the supply of renewable ammonia to Germany through H2Global, a double-auction mechanism funded by the German government. The company will produce the ammonia using alkaline electrolysis technology at its Kakinada project in Andhra Pradesh, India.
The first deliveries are expected in 2029 from Kakinada Seaports, which is directly adjacent to the production facility. AM Green's CEO, Mahesh Colly, said this success positions the company as a leading exporter of green molecules to Germany and the wider European market.
Timo Bollerhey, CEO of Hintco and Co-Founder of H2Global, noted that strong bids from serious developers demonstrate the growing maturity of renewable ammonia projects. He added that long-term contracts provide producers with the certainty needed for investment and secure reliable supply for European buyers.
