LG CNS unveiled its modular data center and AI factory full-stack services at 'Data Centre World Asia 2026' in Singapore.
Key points
•PMDC pre-fabricates facilities into standardized modules for on-site installation, minimizing processes and enabling rapid construction.
•LG CNS provides an infrastructure architecture by combining its data center DBO capabilities with solutions from LG affiliates.
•The modular AI factory is characterized by the ability to incrementally expand AI computing capacity in container form without requiring large land acquisition.
LG CNS showcased its next-generation AI infrastructure capabilities by unveiling 'Pre-fab Modular Data Center (PMDC)' and 'AI Factory Full-Stack Service,' strategies aimed at capturing the AI factory market.
PMDC involves pre-fabricating key facilities—such as GPUs, servers, and power/cooling equipment—into standardized modules and installing them on-site. This method minimizes on-site data center construction processes and allows for rapid deployment. Furthermore, the infrastructure can be flexibly expanded by adding modules tailored to the client's AI computing demands.
LG CNS integrated the AI infrastructure capabilities of 'One LG' into PMDC. The company provides an infrastructure architecture that combines its Data Center Design, Build, and Operate (DBO) capabilities with modular cooling solutions from LG Electronics and optimized battery solutions from LG Energy Solution.
Based on PMDC, LG CNS is also promoting the 'Modular AI Factory,' a small, container-form AI data center. This allows clients to expand capacity by adding containers according to their required functions and AI computing scale, without needing to secure large sites or build separate data center buildings. In connection with this, the company also unveiled an 'AI Factory Full-Stack Service' based on Nvidia's next-generation GPU, 'Verda Rubin.'
This service consists of 'GPUaaS (GPU as a Service),' which provides Verda Rubin GPU resources in a cloud format, an 'Intelligence Service' supporting real-time learning and inference, and an integrated solution for power and cooling technology.
