AI video analysis firm Pintel has begun on-site demonstrations of an AI-based safety system at five bus stops in Cheongju, Daegwallyeong, and Jeonjoo to prevent pedestrian accidents.
Key points
•Pintel Launches Domestic First AI Bus Stop Safety System
•AI Technology Detects and Warns Pedestrian and Bus Accident Risks in Advance
•Post-Installation Analysis of Pedestrian Behavior Changes and On-Site Application
Pintel, an AI video analysis specialist, is pioneering the application of an AI-CCTV based safety system at bus stops for the first time in Korea. The project aims to address traffic safety blind spots around bus stops where passengers and pedestrians may overlap with vehicles during boarding and alighting.
The company's system uses AI-CCTVs to analyze pedestrian positions and entry into hazardous areas in real-time, providing voice warnings through on-site speakers when dangerous situations are detected. This encourages pedestrians to move to safer waiting areas.
On-site demonstrations will take place at five bus stops in Cheongju, Daegwallyeong, and Jeonjoo after system installation. Pintel plans to analyze changes in pedestrian behavior and the practical application of the system post-installation. The company aims to expand its AI video analysis technology into pedestrian safety and urban traffic areas, targeting local government projects.
