Samsung C&T has developed and received certification for a special moment frame PC dry jointing method in South Korea, enhancing the seismic performance of its 'Next-Home' model.
Key points
•Samsung C&T Develops Innovative PC Dry Jointing Method
•First Domestic Certification for Special Moment Frame PC Construction
•Enhancing Seismic Performance for Next-Home Model
Samsung C&T is advancing the technology behind its 'Next-Home' model by incorporating a seismic-resistant PC dry jointing method. This technique allows for easy connection of PC ramen structure columns and beams while maintaining top-tier earthquake resistance.
Samsung C&T's construction division has obtained certification from the Korea Concrete Society for the 'PC Special Moment Frame Beam-Pier Dry Jointing Method,' ensuring structural safety in buildings that require performance beyond intermediate moment frames, including ultra-high-rise structures.
Through optimization of joint shapes and rigorous extreme performance testing, Samsung C&T has raised the seismic performance to the level of special moment frame structures. This advancement is expected to enable the use of PC dry jointing methods for ensuring structural safety in ultra-high-rise buildings.
