KDDI Digital Life Corporation has launched a campaign offering unlimited data to customers using Shinkansen e-tickets.
From September 18, 2026, to December 17, 2026, KDDI and JR East will provide free unlimited data through their online-only plan povo2.0 to customers who book and use Shinkansen e-tickets via JR East's internet reservation service Eki-net.
To participate, customers must first reserve a Shinkansen e-ticket on Eki-net, then link their Suica ID with the povo2.0 account. Upon swiping Suica at the gate, unlimited data benefits will automatically apply for three hours.
KDDI Digital Life's CEO stated that the campaign aims to help customers use smartphones freely during Shinkansen travel.
