On September 30, Hyundai Group signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with KORAIL at its Yangje headquarters to collaborate on research and demonstration of next-generation charging infrastructure and Physical AI technologies using the national highway network. The signing ceremony was attended by Hyundai Group's Vice President Jeong Ho-geun from the Future Strategy Headquarters and Cho Sung-min, Director of the Road Traffic Research Institute at KORAIL.

The MOU reflects the need for charging infrastructure and automation/intelligence technologies due to the increasing number of electric vehicles. It aims to validate next-generation charging technology and Physical AI at highway rest areas, including research on new charging technologies, data accumulation support with startups, and joint development of future road technologies.

Hyundai Group expects to leverage KORAIL's nationwide highway infrastructure for large-scale demonstrations of both next-generation charging and Physical AI technologies. Following the signing ceremony, Hyundai Motor and Kia showcased various robot services at their Yangje headquarters.
